Contributions and Submission Guidelines
So, you’ve decided you’d like to write for BDA – excellent! We are honoured to have business design professionals contribute their experience and share their knowledge with others, and promote our industry globally.
In order to make your contributions accessible and in line with the format of our website, we are looking for articles 250-750 words in length, on a wide range of topics, but dealing primarily with the integration of business and design, design strategy, design education, project management and teamwork. These submissions can be in form of informational essays, editorials or case studies (we like case studies).
With each submission, we also require a short paragraph about you and your professional experience, along with a photograph (minimum 300px by 400px). We are looking to build a community of professional contributors, and we’d like to get to know everyone well.
We value your experience and effort you put into contributing to BDA, and wish to protect your intellectual and moral rights as authors. As a result, we license all submissions under the Creative Commons License “Attribution Non-Commercial No Derivatives” (http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/3.0/ ). By submitting your articles to us, you grant us a non-transferable right to publish your work under the aforementioned terms. If you decide to republish your article somewhere else after submitting your work to BDA, it’s your prerogative, but we reserve the right to be identified as the place of first publication as follows: First Published on Business Design Association Website, 2009. http://www.businessdesignassociation.com/
You can submit your articles to us in MS Word (Mac or Windows), HTML, PDF or as a plain text file (TXT or RTF). Please include any relevant images separately, with a note in the text as to where they belong. Acceptable formats include PNG, JPG, GIF, TIFF. If including images, please submit your contribution as a ZIP archive, with images being named as follows: fig1.png, fig2.png etc.
While we welcome all submissions, we only publish a limited number of articles each month, and as such we cannot guarantee that your submission will be published on the site immediately. We will, however, let you know if the submission has been received and reviewed, and offer any additional comments regarding the content.
Please email all submissions to Claudia El-moor.
